Lee and Stonewall Jackson; death notices and tribute, particularly for Edgar Snowden, editor of the Alexandria Gazette; and advertisements, including one for Martha Washington tobacco. A small photograph of African Americans harvesting a crop is loose in the volume.

Robert Edward Lee (1807-1870) served as General of the Confederate Army in the U.S. Civil War and was president of Washington College in Lexington, Virginia from 1865 to 1870.
